Chamaerops humilis ‘Compacta’ has a paler, silvery colour to the underside of each leaf, creating a very decorative effect. Chamaerops humilis is a shrub-like clumping palm, with several stems growing from a single base. It is crowned by large, fine-textured, blue-green to silver-green, fan shaped leaves. It is the most adaptable species of palms, surviving extreme heat as well as extreme cold. It also has exception wind, heat and drought tolerance.It’s incredibly easy to care for. It likes a spot that gets some sun, but is fine with shade for part of the day. Removing damaged and dead fronds may help improve the growth rate of this palm species.
